Today

ranaeressea was the third flister (in the span of a couple weeks) to mention the Danish cartoon furor. My dad has sent me a slew of links, which I've been working my way through, and I've been wondering about putting together a post of links/excerpts, a la my LJing of yore. I miss issue talking (and feel like I said as much rather recently). Of course, I already have a growing backlog Posts to Write. Sigh.

P.S. The Boston Zine Fair is this weekend. I'm almost tempted.

Well there was a conversation a couple nights ago in which my mother (jokingly) offered to buy me a whip so I could feel my pain. (Sadly I don't remember quite how this conversation started.)

Good to know! I thought that maybe it was your mom, but then I was pretty sure that she didn't keep her maiden name. And that her name didn't start with an H.

Yeah, her initials would be BBS (BWB pre-marriage).

Be sure to read Andrew Sullivan's opinion piece in time. Without having done the amount of research you are doing on the topic, I think his article most closely aligns with my thoughts on the cartoons (well except if I remember correctly, he gets a little too righteous in the last paragraph).

My dad used to send me andrewsullivan.com links a lot, so back when I had the time he was on my regular read list, but then he got less good and dropped of my radar of Blogs to Read When I Have Time. I'll try to find his Time piece, though; thanks.
