"It's all frightfully romantic."

Dear [livejournal.com profile] sexonastick:

Watched Heavenly Creatures. Was reminded of Lost and Delirious. Where are my sane teenage lesbian movies?

Love,
Me

There are way too many snarky coments I could make re sane teenage lesbians.

But I liked HC, though I seem to have a thing for homo murderers. See-fascination with Leopold and Loeb.

*swats you*

Speaking of "homo murderers"... when i picked up Heavenly Creatures i immediately thought of Murder by Numbers (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0264935/) 'cause the image of Pauline totally looks like one of the boys in that movie, and i have so read slash fic for that movie.

Well, Murder by Numbers is supposed to be based (sort of) on Leopold and Loeb, and the Parker-Hulme lawers used the same defense as Leopold-Loeb's did. (That being that French phrase that means "insanity in pairs.")

But, um. You want a happy teen lesbian movie?

... have you see The Incredibly True Adventures of Two Girls in Love?

There's a French phrase that means "insanity in pairs"? Neato.

Huh. I'd never heard of Leopold and Loeb before [livejournal.com profile] hedy mentioned them. H, have you seen Murder by Numbers?

Oh yes, The Incredibly True Adventures of Two Girls in Love, good call. I have in fact seen that movie. Quite liked it even. Thank you.

P.S. Love the new "name."

::hugs::

Haven't actually. Should look into that.

Umm, are there even any gay teen movies (gay in the male sense, not in the non-gendered sense)? I know, I'm such a bad queer. Well, there's an English one I tried to watch a few times, but never got through it. That's all I can think of.

Oh, and But I'm A Cheerleader. Happy. Then again, whenver we thought of any queer movies to watch at DePauw, that's the one that always came up. Hmmm. . .

There's one that takes place in Ohio in the 80's called Edge of Seventeen but it's guys, no lesbians. (Which would be why it fits your request and not [livejournal.com profile] hermionesviolin's.) Um. There are... more. And I might be able to think of them when I'm less sleepy.

I really don't like Ohio, tho, so that rules that one out. Thanks anyway.

What has this post taught me, throught everyone's comments? I need to see more queer movies. . .

Insanity in pairs: Folie a deux - a madness of two. See all the random crap you learn by being a middle school X-Phile (X-Files fanatic)?

Snarky comment RE: sane teenage lesbians - Wait, what? Sane teenage lesbians? I don't remember any of those. (Sorry, that just had to be said.)
