Two more bags of paper going to the curb.

My mom emailed me:

You know, it sounds to me, from the "bag o' paper" count, that you have taken a significant bite out of your collection of useless paper (oops, I meant Potentially Very Important Documents).

Hey, in the bottom of the last box I went through, I found my bartending book and my massage class books!  I knew I couldn't have actually lost them.

Oh god, Boston Zine Fair (September 20-21).  I should not go and yet you know I will.

The gash on my finger is healing, though it still looks kind of grotesque -- like the skin really isn't pushed together.  Should I have gone to the hospital and gotten stitches?  Should I go to the hospital anyway?

Normally I am all about leaving wounds exposed to heal, but because this is such an open wound that it seems like a bad idea.

I don't usually bother with Neosporin but I was considering buying some when I first cut myself, but at that time I was more concerned about keeping the bleeding in check so taking off the bandaid to put on a new one with Neosporin seemed like a bad idea.

It's not a super-deep cut. There's some numbness around it, so I guess I severed some nerves, but I can use and even bend my finger without pain, so I don't think I damaged any muscles or tendons.

I am not a qualified medical professional, but that looks somewhat like mine, and leaving the band-aid off for a day helped immeasurably. (Obviously, only when I was doing clean, dry activities - I put a band-aid and a rubber glove on when I made some jam.) The jagged edges got all disgustingly dry and eventually flaked off

If it makes you feel better, maybe stop by the campus quick clinic and have the triage nurse look at it? That's the person who told me I'd be fine if I stopped keeping it so wet and squeezing it with a band-aid. And he was right, in my case.
