So far no one has any other suggestions, so I suspect that's what I'll do. Though I do enjoy thelastgoodname's suggestion about the World Cup final -- "it's not too late for you to buy tickets to Berlin and partake of the biggest party of the year and pretend it's all for YOU."

I tend to think that Tarot is much like astrology in that there is so much information there that one can always find applicable stuff, and human brains are wired to find patterns, and there are all those statistical biases I learned about in psych class ... confirmation bias etc.

I'm glad I was able to contribute to a fabulous birthday party for you :)

Oh absolutely. I don't *believe* in it (much like I don't *believe* in just about anything; sigh....), but it sure is fun when you get those eerily accurate readings.

I think I'm stubbornly attached to my cynicism, so my reaction tends to be sort of annoyance that people are buying into it -- though if I'm in the right mood I can get into it.
