Okay, so i complain about my pre-major advisor (Harold Skulsky), but on the up-side i never have to see him. I e-mailed him last night asking for my registration code so i could drop Russian and he wrote back this morning "Hi, Elizabeth! Your reg. code no. is ******! Have a good semester! Cheers, HS" I love when stuff is so easy.

Unrelatedly, i have decided i want a ring. Wedding rings go on the left hand, right? 'Cause i want one on my right ring finger. When did i get so into accessories?

I was always a little confused by that. What does "facing in" mean? Does that mean the point of the heart points in?

Yes, wedding ring = left hand. But I thought I heard something about engagement rings on the right hand? Who knows. I may just be insane.

Well, some people move their engagement ring to their right hand after getting the wedding band, like my mother ^_^

The wedding or engagement ring were always traditionally on the 4th(ring) finger of the left hand because in old times it was believed that there was a vein or artery that went from that finger directly to the heart.

but now i'm being a nerd!

Yeah, my mom wears her engagement ring and her wedding ring on the same finger, with her wedding ring closer to her heart.

And the nerdiness is all good. I knew to guess left hand for wedding rings because the heart is on the left side of the chest and i thought i remembered there being some tradition of wearing the wedding ring close to your heart or something.

I think largely we just got off on a bad foot as advisor/advisee. A friend of mine has him now for Shakespeare and really likes him, so i'm sure he can be a very good professor.
