The problem with delegating is that "If you want something done (right/now) do it yourself." is true. We're ordering 50 deparment t-shirts. Am debating the size spread. 10 of each from S-XL?

Mmmm... classics always makes people e-mail in their sizes. But English probably has too many people to do that.

Yeah, it would have been ideal to have had people pre-order with size so at least we would have a starting point, but attempts to delegate this t-shirt business earlier in the semester failed, and we need to have them before the seniors graduate, so i'm just gonna guesstimate.

smithies tend to be bigger rather than smaller.
of course, that doesn't always stop them from trying to fit into the daintier sizes...so it probably doesn't matter.

and because you're doing everything and they're contributing nothing to the enterprise, it's almost guaranteed that they'll be bitching and moaning no matter what you do. so i wouldn't stress about it too much.

Duuuude. That rocks SO hardcore!!! And in response to the question, I think it's so hard to judge these things...but at least you're ordering XL, unlike most orgs, who stop at large and expect everyone to be able to fit into them...

Frankly, I agree with the last commenter. There is ALWAYS someone who'll have a problem with it, so go with your gut. And on that note--T-SHIRTS! YAY!!! :)

Yeah, it is so hard to judge. Being involved in anti-sizist stuff i feel like i should be ordering XS and 5X and all that, but then i feel like it gets ridiculous purchasing for niche markets when i don't even know if there are people those sizes who would want one. The ideal would be having students pre-order so we could tailor the number of each size we order, but we really wanna get shirts before the seniors graduate (we had tried to delegate earlier in the semester, but obviously that didn't happen) so i think i'm just gonna kinda guess. And if any senior desperately wants a shirt in a size we don't have (or a size we run out of) we can rush order a new batch. Is XL gonna be fine for you? 'Cause friends of She Who Is Doing The Ordering get special privileges, so if you or anyone whom you know is definitely gonna buy a shirt wants on in a size beyond S-XL, tell me before like 9am tomorrow.

Seniors get priority in purchasing when they come in, but once the screens are done it'll be easy for them to just order more in the fall.

I would get 20ish mediums. They always go first and most girls won't wear their shirts if they are ginormous.
