[so of course i'm using my "fire" icon]

Wow, i had actually forgotten how loud the fire alarm is. This is a good thing given how often it has gone off in past years.

3rd floor microwave caught on fire. Good times. At least it was an actual fire alarm, though, and not just a spider or any of the stuff it's been in the past.

my sophmore year the alarm in [livejournal.com profile] jaicat's room went off b/c she had contact juggling balls facing the window and they caught sunlight and started a small fire in her desk. She was at dance class but some other people smelled smoke. at first they thought it was just incense but then they realized it didn't smell like incense and they heard the alarm in the room so they called public safty. the officer came, opened the door, saw smoke and pulled the alarm. Luckly it was a small fire (mostly smoke) and the only thing damaged was a replaceable electrical cable. but the desk drawer had a black mark and the room smelled like smoke for a while.

Now, what we should all be asking ourselves is why the detector in the room didn't set off any big detectors or alert public safty?

Wow, that's disturbing.
