I hear the Chicago Institute has a Monet collection to rival the MFA's, so i have to go there some time anyway, but, guh...

the dayton art institute is the one i was talking about earlier. it's laid out in two chronological circles. good place, not much else to do in the city.

The chicago art museum is HUGE and AMAZING and awful if you are there with people who do not care about art which was unfortunately my experience.

The cleveland art museum is my favorite art museum ever (ok, so I have only been to about five of them, but still); they have an AMAZING Islamic collection and my great grandfather designed about half the landscaping which is beautiful and breathtaking.

I've quite enjoyed my trips to the AIC. It's got a varied collection, and big, but not unmanagable. Mom quite enjoyed their Monets, and I'd say its one of the best collections I've seen of his outside Paris.

Dayton is also home to the USAF Museum. And Paul Lawrence Dunbar's house, and some Wright Brothers Stuff, but that's about it. A friend that lives there wants me to come up and see her, so I think this exhibition will encourage me to.
