Sharon said Dar Williams is giving a free concert at the World Financial Center Plaza on July 30. If this is true i am so there. Interestingly, Ani is playing at the Cape Cod Melody Tent that same day. When Sharon gets back next week we're definitely making plans.

I got my computer set up. Yay! No Internet access (I didn't wanna bother since i can just use the family computer for that.) but now i can do word-processing in the privacy of my room, with all my files on the compurer, surrounded by my books, with a door i can shut, where i can put on a CD without needing headphones. Oh yes.

Heard from the boy. Of the quote, he said "it shouldn't be taken quite so scarily seriously." He's been a lot busier than he'd expected with work and summer classes. He checked his e-mail today for the first time since May 14 (this is why i leave messages on e-mail and AIM) and promises to kidnap me "eventually" (when i get back from family vacation in mid-July i'll pester him for a date). He said my e-mails "were the only oines I didn't just up and delete before I read them." Good to now i'm not obnoxious and that i really am loved.

And did i mention that i got my computer set up? :)

Oh, I hope you go to the Dar concert! She gave a concert at my school back in October, but at that time, I had never heard of Dar Williams (!) and had little interest in going. Weeks later, my aunt introduced me to "The Christians and the Pagans" among other songs, I fell in love, and she burned copies of all Dar's albums for me. So I am regretful, to put it mildly, for failing to see Dar at my very own college....but I'm sure there'll be other opportunities. :)

Anyway, yeah: go. Have fun.

I had heard only "The Babysitter's Here" but adored it. Then i borrowed my roomie's CDs first semester and totally got into her. ("The Christians and the Pagans" is definitely a favorite.) Then i saw her at the Iron Horse (in Northampton, where i go to school) before Winter Break. She's not amazing live, but she's good. And hey, free concert = yay (though not really free since i'll be taking the train or the bus there, but that's no problem, esp. if it gets to be the beginning of an actual visit with my friend).

hey. Your username attracted me, and I like how you write, so I'm adding you to my friends list. Hope that's cool.

No problem. Random people are way cool and i'm always flattered when people think i'm interesting enough to add to their friends list. Your journal looks interesting, too, so i'm gonna add you back.
