I’m with [livejournal.com profile] anniesj in being unabashedly in luff with “Chosen,” but [livejournal.com profile] trijinx has some appropriately critical thoughts.

The blogosphere does a comprehensive linkjob.

I’m torn between “Don’t piss in my Buffy-O’s” and (because we all know i’m all about information and multiple perspectives and complexity and all that) wanting to read what everyone else has to say.

In other news...

I’m glad [livejournal.com profile] tenebraeli is okay.

[livejournal.com profile] tranceballerina, i don’t know what to say except that i hope things get better for you.
"I thought you were too tired."
"It hurts too much not to try."
"I'm so sorry."
"It just takes so much strength. I don't have that much."
"Me, I got so much strength I'm givin' it away."
If there’s anything i can do, EVER, just ask.

It's funny. I didn't mean to be that critical when I sat down to write, but it just happened.

I'm usually really defensive of Buffy, especially around non-fans who think it's 90210 with vampires, but I guess I felt free to go off on "Chosen" given my friends list of mostly-fans.

I love the show and you know I'll verbally smack down irrational naysayers, but I have opinions too. Sometimes it's hard to reconcile my show love with my opinions. Often, I let my opinions go a little bit in order to appreciate the show more. I guess, since this was the end, I couldn't anymore.

::sigh::

I guess I'm having angst over the nature of my Buffy worship. Fun, huh?

Critical is good. We know i'm all about interrogating information and insisting on complexity and seeing how things are complicated and all that good stuff. And i know you love the show absolutely. And you make valid criticisms (if i'd thought you were nuts i wouldn't have linked to it).

I'm having issues, too, as the post implied, because i loved the episode and am willing to overlook the few flaws, but on the other hand i wanna read what other people have to say, not just to be reminded of great lines and moments and to see interesting thoughts like "Does Spike really think Buffy doesn't love him or did he just say that to help convince her to leave, and does she really believe it?" but also because, as we keep coming back to, i insist on making things complicated.

(Oh and for the record, i think Buffy and Spike had a platonic night in the basement -- "Touched" but getting to lie down.)

I luff you.

Plato was sort of a slut, wasn't he? It sort of puts a spin on that whole term, doesn't it?

I'm being flippant because I agree with everything you just said, yet feel the need to reply because you're nice and I luff you too. :-)
