Best. Episode. Ever.
Okay, possibly not, and i really don't wanna argue about "best" episode, but i loved that people actually were honest and upfront and dealt with things and there was continuity and issues got resolved.
After "Empty Places," at the prodding of
offbalance, i did lots of research (i.e. reading transcripts of episodes) about the role of the Slayer and being alone and all that and never did get an entry posted, but...
They broke the rules. Because that is what Joss does.
And regardless of all the smaller messages, THE message of this show is girl power.
I'm still rewriting the end of the season starting in the middle of "Dirty Girls," but i don't think i could have asked for a better series ender.
But, of course, i can't just write a short entry like that.
Details.
"He had to split." Because the bad guys never stay dead.
"You have Angel-breath." "There could be oils involved." They are both 12, and the rivalry, and people being honest and telling people the truth even when it's hard and complicated. I loved her cookie dough metaphor. And it's all about the 2nd front now.
Aw, the platonic-ness in the basement.
I wanted to like Kennedy, and i almost did. I'm okay with it largely because someone had to be with Willow to bring the ax down to Buffy. And yo, Willow is the new Watcher of the Watchers.
"It breaks all the rules... it's bloody brilliant."
And regardless of the other messages, THE message of this show is girl power.
Cleveland? (Okay, someone mentioned that Wish-verse Buffy comes to Sunnydale from Cleveland.)
Liz Taylor! I was thinking Spike would Shanshu, but this was way cooler. Maybe this is how one Shanshus? (And hello! to "souled vampire playing important role in the apocalypse" -- damn, now i have to go back and look up old Angel episodes to refresh me on all those prophecies.) This is why i hate having casting knowledge. I mean, i'm glad, but i'm not. We got "I believe in you" and her calling him a champion, and i thought that was all Joss was gonna give us from Cassie since what everyone wanted (my mom included, tee) was for her to tell him he loved her, but no, we got "I love you." "No you don't, but thanks for saying."
"That's my girl. Always doing the stupid thing." That was when i cried.
"Anything you're going to say will sound like goodbye."
And of course, the Grr Argh. (Hmm, no redux of the WB's goodbye after "The Gift.")
