TGIF

The only real votes I've gotten so far re: party are requests for August, so I'm thinking perhaps a birthday party (Saturday, July 8 -- the day before my birthday) and then an apartmentwarming in August. This would segue nicely into the monthly dinner party tradition I'd like to start.

I feel weird having any party before the official apartment-warming, though. Also, two parties means twice the planning. It would theoretically help relieve my "There's no way everyone I want to be able to attend will be able to attend; ergo : pout" feelings.

Thoughts? Anyone? (My impression so far is that basically no one cares.)

Oh, and Prof.B. thinks I should take some vacation time. (As does everyone else, of course.) I feel weird 'cause I would basically use it to get stuff done rather than do anything fun (though yes of course that's my perogative, and I know my mom and brother would v. much endorse my going through my boxes). Is there anyone who would like to visit me who would prefer visiting on a weekday rather than a weekend? 'Cause I could totally take a day (or more) off to do that. Theoretically I could also take time off to go visit someone else, but I don't think anyone wants to see me that badly.

There is more kitchenware in my kitchen than I had originally given Roomie credit for.  How did I not notice there was a blender?  I see fruit smoothies in my future.  (Just fruit and ice, though.  Not doing the yogurt blend a la Ari.)

I made pinto beans tonight.  And by "made" I mean "did that process called soaking but didn't actually do anything else with them before eating them."  I mean, this is me we're talking about after all.  I had meant to put avocados on the grocery list, though.  (Qdoba is turning me into a fan.)

It's Farmers' Market season -- and more importantly, I'm trying to consume less packaged food.  What's in season currently?  Is there a website that would tell me this?

Oh, Lorraine, due to busyness, I only got your package mailed out this morning.

I had a ton of stamps but can't find them in my boxes (yes, mom; I hear you shaming me), so now I have a box of Crops of the Americas stamps.
