[2018] begin as you mean to go on

I had a headache for much of yesterday and went to bed early and still haven't finished a for-semi-public-consumption year in review/year ahead post -- but I slept for about 11 hours last night and today I watched Star Wars: The Last Jedi and finished reading The Fifth Season (Book 1 in N. K. Jemisin's Broken Earth trilogy), and that's a pretty good way to start off a new year.
