I bought the variant cover (Colossus) instead of the main cover of Wolverine battling atop a heap of Breakworlders.  It appears to be a trend that the variant cover has no connection to the actual contents of the issue -- I get the sense it's just gonna be a set of shots of the X-Men in that red colorization.

I didn't really believe that Scott was permanently dead; but I'd forgotten that it was a Breakworlder who brought Piotr back, so that option wasn't on my mind at all.

I was a little suspicious when Scott said "If only I had my powers" 'cause I thought it had been implied some while back that he had in fact gained control of his powers, but I was still sufficiently blown away when he let it loose.

I hadn't realized until I read karabair's post that the psychic linking (holla, "Grave"!) was in the past because I fail at visual cues sometimes (i.e., that the Scot talking to Emma in that first panel was not tortured!Scott -- so much of the spoken dialogue was blotted out by thought bubbles that I don't feel bad about not having recognized it from when I read it back in *checks tag* early September).  Hee, Scott's "how could you known that oh my god did you have some kind of surveillance device on your own ship that we stole?"

Not gonna lie, Scott creeped me out with his "To me, my X-Men" line (even leaving aside his red eyes).

I'm intrigued by the idea that the "prophecy" is more like an instruction manual for destroying the Breakworld.

Hank's "So. / This is the way the world ends." amused me because I just watched Southland Tales ("This is the way the world ends.  Not with a whimper, but with a bang.  This is the way the world ends.").
