Life improves.
I have a pile of articles on Coleridge’s Christabel to read for my Romantics research paper, and for fun i have Camille Paglia’s Sexual Personae because she has interesting things to say about Wordsworth and Coleridge.
I finally put Magritte’s The Return up over my bookcase.
When peace like a river attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.
Yay for not being a big ole bucket o’ angst.
And i need to remember to go for walks. Every day i think.

Everyone I know is reading the same books and listening to the same music. It's kind of creepy.
Well, not creepy. But profound or something.
Note that this will not tempt me AT ALL to read Sexual Personae because I already know that I would run screaming from it and be sullen all the way through it. *grin

I thought of you recently because so many people i know are all taking the same classes next semester. Well not really, but a good half dozen are taking Thurston's Am. Lit. and a number of people are taking Intro to Women's Studies and then a bunch are taking the Big Gay (or the petite, 2-credit version, really). I feel like there's some word that already exists, synchronicity or something, for when everyone is doing the same thing (taking the same classes, reading the same books, etc.) but i can't think of what it is.

Maybe synchronicity is the word. I don't know. I want to create a complex theory of the world a la Foucalt's Pendulum or perhaps on the slightly grander scale of The Bible and write it down in epic prophetic format. It would include this property, most definitely. It would be an omen of some sort.
