I'm reading kind of quickly, but I thought what I miss in the re-writing of the Lord's Prayer is the personal touch -- the traditional language strikes me as very simple and grounded, person to person. And the re-writes tend to be bigger and fuzzier and somehow less relational. Might just be that I'm reading too fast.
And bless you for your prayer for inclusion on all levels -- I know that lefties feel silenced in places, but not in the places I generally hang out. I would love a world where everyone can speak their mind and heart and expect a respectful response -- not that they will always meet wtih agreement, but with respect. And it would be REALLY nice if we could all stop making assumptions about each other based on some piddidly piece of information we imagine we know about one another and actually LISTEN.
To me, it seems to always come back to being present. If I can truly be present with you, in a moment in time, and begin to understand you, that moment becomes a glimpse of the Kingdom.
