My boss is going to Tortuga Bay with his family for a long weekend.
I thought I saw a snow flurry blow by the window during lunch today.

A comment of Mari's led me to Wikipedia. I had thought green=Ireland, full stop, hadn't really thought about where the colors of the flag must have come from.

Apparently spring is here. On our way to the Square after work, Katie and I saw a shoe store display of hard plastic looking shoes in bright pink, yellow, and white. And here I'd forgotten about how much I've hated spring color schemes in years past.

Before class today, the prof was playing Gregorian chant. (Last week we had Ambrosian chant.) "Can anyone hazard a guess as to why I'm playing this this week?" he asked. I remembered that like half our reading assignment related to Gregory the Great, so I kinda rolled my eyes and raised my hand. "Anyone other than Elizabeth." At this point I laughed, so he added, "Who is already openly giggling and scoffing." I insisted I was not scoffing.
In talking about popes, the prof referenced a scene in one of the Patrick O'Brian Aubrey-Maturin books. I thought of you.
In talking about various architectural stuff, he commented, "Some of these decayed quite picturesquely." The slide he had up was of the Synod of Whitby. "For those of you who are fans of Gothic novels... this is where Dracula comes ashore." I heard "Gothic novels" and thought Wuthering Heights, but at "Dracula" of course I perked up.
Near the end of class he said he comes from a background of "smug Protestant 'oh the papacy, isn't that nasty' " ♥

He canceled our midterm, which pleases me. We get our papers back next week. Yeah, not really looking forward to that. Anyway. I have to start thinking about what I could write a paper on that won't bore me out of my skull. Something about one of the conversions of a people, maybe? Mystics, or anchoresses?

Was it really windy today? 'Cause when I came home, our recycling bin was a ways over, and someone had moved the two trash barrels onto our porch. Yeah, the porch. I don't understand why they couldn't just be put back by the fence next to the house.
