I'm not sure I would feel comfortable saying I loved an author after only one work. But then, I'm UberQualifier Girl.
I loathed Brueggemann for the talk he gave at Smith, and then Liz Carr recommended The Prophetic Imagination and that made me wanna throw things, too (largely I was very into my Old Testament class and Brueggemann's interpretations of the Old Testament were very different) plus I found him so hard to get through. I never did do a rageful writeup, though, so I've been trying to reread it so I can write up reactions and give it back to Liz (she lent me her copy). And apparently now I have 2 more Brueggemann books on my To Read list.
My mom's a big Julian fan. I read the Showings in high school and have been meaning to reread them. I just wasn't all that taken, though. sk8eeyore loves her, though, and wrote her college honors thesis on her.
