The part I liked was that David knew what and how he could do. Also, I was kind of remembering that David had no "combat" experience, but anyone who could kill lions and bears could kill a champion -- particularly with God on his side.
This reading made it kind of a "to thine own self be true" message. Find your center, and listen to it.
The evening was also interesting to me because I was just reading a book about Quaker worship (mostly silence) and there I was in silence.
