A lot about pairings in Harry Potter fandom depends on personal tastes. I admit that some of them really weird me the holy fuck out (Snape/Hermione? wtf?) but, like anything else, I guess it's what you're looking for.

I've been a fan of Harry/Draco slash ever since the first book, really. If you asked me the ever-present question of "What the hell, Laura, they clearly hate each other, don't you see that?" I'd have to say, "Well, yeah." But I still like the pairing, mostly because they're, uh, really obsessed with each other. And I know you know that slashers can turn any kind of tension into sexual tension. I guess you just have to want to see it. (Personally, I don't see Ron/Hermione. I don't. I think they'd kill each other.)

The really weird thing I realized about this book is, really, what the hell is so important about Draco Malfoy to Dumbledore? It was clearly him that was trying to pass along the charmed necklace to Dumbledore through Katie Bell, and that poisoned mead that nearly killed Ron was Malfoy's fault, too. Not to mention the fact that he was working with Voldemort to let the Death Eaters into the castle. If I had been headmaster (er, mistress), the red flags of "the greater good of the rest of the student population" would have popped into my mind probably somewhere around the time Ron had to have a bezoar shoved down his throat. Dumbledore couldn't have hoped to have enough time to destory all the Horcruxes before Malfoy found a way to get the Death Eaters in. And if Dumbledore had known that Malfoy was behind the Katie Bell fiasco... I mean, come on, now. Draco nearly killed two students. Draco let the Death Eaters into Hogwarts. Dumbledore claimed the jig had been up for a while, he just didn't want to Voldemort to use his mind-reading powers and kill Draco for it.

But... what gives? (Not that I'm complaining: I like Draco and would have been mo pissed had he kicked the bucket. But... it doesn't make sense to me.)
