No, i never get the sense that Wash feels inferior to his warrior woman bride. He feels left out of the Mal-Zoe War bond definitely, but that's quite different. My main feeling from the show is a definite fluidity of gender roles and a real comfort with that fluidity. Which is one big reason i was so thrown by Wash's comment, because it felt so out-of-line with how i had been reading the show. Though as i said, later i realized the other possible reading which makes much more sense.
