You might appreciate the sections about the Four Horsepersons, and the theology bits at the end are really interesting -- free will etc. I'm glad you liked American Gods, though. (Dude, we agree on something? *boggles*)
I caught a lot of the hetero humour when i saw it as a kid (Miss Brahms, Mr. Lucas' banter with her, Mr. Grace and his aides on loan from Hugh Hefner) so when Emma first told me i figured it was just coding i hadn't caught, and there is stuff like that, but there's also really rather explicit stuff. Like when the guy wants to get a coat for his "friend" Roger (who turns out to be his pet dog), or when they have the "flexi-bra" and there's also a butt one.
