burning like matchsticks in the face of the darkness

Kate (Laura's roommate) says that at least a half a dozen people recently have told her she seems motherly to them and someone said they totally saw her growing up to be a soccer mom. When pressed, at least one person said it was because of the pearls she wears. She took off the pearls "in a fit of petulance" as she put it, and told me last night that she might stop wearing them altogether. I think she should start executing the idiots.
