A woman i work with at the museum said they're not allowed to hire Smithies right after they graduate (http://www.livejournal.com/users/hermionesviolin/265992.html?thread=546312#t546312). However, it turns out that Smith grads just can't be hired for student jobs the summer after they graduate; there's no rule against hiring them for regular jobs (http://www.livejournal.com/users/hermionesviolin/271026.html).
