I have a friend who quotes a particular passage of the Bible to justify his belief that some passages can be taken as truth and others discounted as inaccurate for any one of several reasons. I can't remember the exact passage -- I'd have to ask him -- but it has something to do with Jesus saying that his true followers will know his voice. It feels like an easy way out sometimes, but basically (and I think maybe I agree) he sees it as saying that you can read the Bible and believe only the things that you can bring yourself to believe and consider what you actually think God is trying to say.

(Um, yes, somewhat random, I realize, but I thought of that.)

Always love extra long entries that have to do with everything in the world and almost nothing at the same time. Um, yes. ;)
