burning like matchsticks in the face of the darkness

I was really interested in your reactions to the movie. As I said a few days ago, I loved it; but then again, I don't think I possess your attention to detail ;), and I guess I didn't have terribly high expectations for the film adaptation to begin with, so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I agree with a lot of what you said, though; Dumbledore's character could have been MUCH better developed, and some of the little things, such as Hedwig's name never being mentioned and the omission of the Sorting Hat song, bothered me, too. Other cool scenes that weren't included were the harrowing cart journey through Gringotts, the escape of Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback, and the brainteaser with the cups of potions prior to meeting Voldemort....among numerous others, I'm sure. On the whole, though, I did enjoy it -- and I thought Hermione was adorable, actually more likeable in the film than in the book, but that's just me. :)
