on praying without ceasing

One of my friends is feeling a bit stressed and drained, and I was thinking this evening that I will pray for him because it's the only thing I can do (and prayer is always an appropriate response to everything anyway) and I was thinking about the question of what makes prayer different from just thinking well wishes for someone, and I thought that it's well-wishing with intent, that you're invoking the Holy Spirit -- and that's why Paul can exhort us to "pray without ceasing," because we are supposed to always be journeying kin with God, allowing that Life Force that is in our very breath also guide our actions and words and thoughts.
