The actual sermon was kinda blah, though, and i definitely spaced a lot. First preached by Jonathan Edwards in 1738 in this very church, though, which was neat. Who knew he [for those of you who don’t know, he’s famous for his “Sinners in the hands of an angry God” sermon] had a series of 16 sermons on “Charity [love] and its fruits”?

Autumn is beautiful.
Oct. 27th, 2002 07:33 pmThe colored leaves scattered all over the ground.
The beautiful autumn smell.
The crisp air.
The crunch of the leaves beneath your feet.
Yes, this is definitely my favorite season.
"Beauty is no end in itself, but if it makes our lives less miserable so that we might be more kind—well, then, let's have beauty, painted on our porcelain, hanging on our walls, ringing through our stories. We are a sorry tribe of beasts. We need all the help we can get."

Buffy (“Selfless”) and Firefly (“Out of Gas”) were both quality episodes. Quoteable lines and historical background. I heart continuity. [Must mention, though, that the whole “Anya must die” was highly problematic.] Angel (“Slouching Toward Bethlehem”) was also serious quality. Wesley and Connor are THE BEST. And, um, does anyone in Whedonverse ever learn that deceit is never the right way?
