It continues to confuse me how much Postcards to Voters utilizes Facebook over email.

Like, I have been taken FB breaks recently, but even when I'm on FB a lot, there's definitely content that I don't see in a timely fashion because of the mysteries of The Algorithm. I personally feel like email is The Most Effective way to get info to people, and although I recognize I am maybe an outlier (since many people just ignore their email altogether to some degree, whereas they dip in and out of social media), I would at least do email ALSO?

In talking about their last campaign, I had said I had thought I had signed up for their email list but hadn't gotten any emails even though they were talking about a new campaign on FB. 

I had said: "But (according to their FB) apparently they had only started releasing addresses Tuesday [Dec 10] morning (and had posted the campaign script Monday  [Dec 9] morning, so people could start writing postcards even before they had addresses), so I wasn't particularly behind.  [And I did get an email the morning of Thurs Dec 12 announcing the new campaign and encouraging me to sign up for addresses.]"

I requested some addresses the night of Sun Dec 22, and have over the ensuing days I think requested 4 batches of 10 or something.

Fri Dec 27 at 5:57pm (so, a solid week after the first announced the campaign on FB), I got an email (Subject "🚀 Progress Update on Jack Trammell in VA") which opened with:

With a second Virginia Senate Special Election on Tuesday, January 7 campaign already underway, I thought you might appreciate this progress report: we are 43.4% done with the list!

There are just enough addresses left for you to write your first five or ten this weekend and that will complete this latest Postcards to Voters campaign.  Here's the background on the campaign: [...]

So, if I were only on their email list and not on their social media, I would have missed out on a solid week I could have been writing postcards in.
