The James Bond books were so much better that the movies it was not even funny. I don't think any series of movies so blatantly ignored their source material. I think the worst thing is that they chose to make the character in the movies so misogynistic.

In the books he did have a sad a bitter side, for a darn good reason, but all in all he was a gentleman.

It is discrimination to deny marriage and benefits on the basis of gender. Marriage is a very old institution that may have some baggage attached to it that people can whine about, but I think it rises above all that to reflect a spiritual union between two people.

There is not an insitution of polygamous marriage, I cannot imagine one, but I will not write off the possibility of that changing in the (far) future. Then and only then should it be recognized by society.
