~ponders~ I don't remember an empty chair for Elijah. In modern times, we leave empty chairs for POWs and prisoners and for a while it was the Russian Jews who couldn't celebrate things. It definitely is supposed to have the open and inviting, and we do say the ha lachma anya to invite people to dine with us, but I don't remember an empty chair for Elijah?
