I finally got to reading this tonight.

Time of Your Life, Part 1 The Return of FRAY

towards commented a few days ago, "I just read the latest Buffy comic.. and all I have to say is.. WTF. Season 8 is starting to read like crackfic for me lately. Anyone agree?"

I like centaur!Dawn, but yeah, I can see that sentiment.

I think I was more okay with horny!Xander than with ditzy!Buffy. I'm generally not a fan of any character being played for easy laughs or easy anything, though. (And dude, this is a Joss Whedon script, so I can't even blame anyone else.)

     I did appreciate this bit:
Kennedy: How hot am I for teacher right now?
Buffy: You know she took over the computer-science class at Sunnydale? Wasn't even a senior. // My will...
Kennedy: Hey, grubby paws off, lez-faux.
Buffy: What? What have you--Who said I--
Kennedy: I love that you're in your experimental phase--'cause I really kinda thought you were a 'phobe--but you put the moves on Red and I'll kill you like a chicken.
Buffy: Hamnoo?

     And:
Dawn: I don't feel like a majestic creature of legend. I feel like a freak.

I haven't been following the comics, so I had no idea about centaur!Dawn. What happened to that poor girl?? And hee! It does sound a bit crack-addled.

Btw, happy belated birthday! It sounds like it was a good one :)

When the comics started, she had been turned into a giant. In this most recent issue she turned into a centaur and it's basically stated that it's some sort of threefold spell, so at some later date they'll do something else whacky with her.

Kennedy getting defensive was so in character with Kennedy. Also agree with crackfic. I hope they get back on track.
