My last name begins with "S" so I'm actually partial to prefixes that _don't_ end in "s" because they're less likely to slur that way.
I'm bad at navigating social cues etc. period, but girls always felt easier to me. With guys there was this weird pseudo-flirting thing that I never quite knew how to react to. I mostly escaped cruelty from girls, but with guys so often I felt like there was some sort of teasing or other game going on that I just didn't know how to play and couldn't tell if they were being mean or not.
